have recently had the opportunity to do a staff mobility trough the Erasmus+ International Credit mobility (EMIC) Program in UPVD from May 19 to May 23, 2025. These were 5 days with intensive work and exchange of intercultural experiences.
I work for a mexican public university, Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, UADY as we call it. UADY is located in the southeast of Mexico and I work in the the General Coordination of Cooperation and Internationalization office.
I applied to UPVD because we have an agreement that has been working very well, because I could see that it is a public university really concerned with the education of its students that acts responsibly to achieve its objectives. And well, I found that it is so. My expectations for the stay were met. We had the opportunity to interact with colleagues from other parts of the world, including regions with which my institution had not yet had the opportunity to interact. During the sesions we share good practices and problems faced and ways in which they are being resolved. Perhaps setting aside a little more time for these kinds of discussions and exchanges of ideas will make these opportunities even more impactful.
Without a doubt, this visit has served to strengthen relations with UPVD and identify new opportunities for collaboration. We are already working on expanding the areas in which UADY and UPVD collaborate. Throughout our stay, we felt welcomed by colleagues from the international office and by colleagues from other departments and schools at UPVD, who gave us the opportunity to discover some of the riches of your UPDV.
These visits have given rise to new ideas and we have identified new areas for collaboration. Just to mention one of them, I was impressed by the work UPVD does at the entrepreneurship center and in the school of sciences. I have brought with me the task of contacting my colleagues from other areas at UADY to seek collaborations with other schools. I am also taking away practices carried out at UPVD and other participants in the staff week that I am sure will serve to improve our day-to-day activities when I share them with my colleagues.
I can't forget to mention that this stay has also allowed me to discover some very beautiful places. The city of Perpignan and its surroundings are very pretty. I've learned a bit about its history and local culture, practiced other languages, and learned about the culture of the places where my classmates during the stay came from. I encourge the universities colleagues to apply and give themselves the opportunity for such a nice experience.
Many thanks to the SRIT team who prepared all the activities and gave us the opportunity to participate in this experience.
