In order to respond to the demand from its would-be graduates for an education which is accessible to all and also professional in its aims, the university has adopted a vision of science which is  functional and not solely academic. This change of direction with respect to the mission of the university represents a minor revolution for the institution which we represent, a revolution which the university must not only go along with, but even sometimes anticipate in order to conserve its postion in the world of higher education and scientific research.

 First Degree - Master’s - Doctorate:

 The University of Perpignan offers the three levels of diplomas in further education: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s, and Doctorate. The harmonisation of university courses at the level of the European Union allows each student to choose his own course of study, in one main subject, with the possibility of branching out into other disciplines.

 The university also offers the possibility of professional training in partnership with the private sector. The Master’s Degree, often pursued jointly with other European Universities, usually proposes a choice between two options: “professional”, or “research”. Various international programmes offer the possibility of following a part of the course at a foreign university. A school of Doctoral studies provide the possibility of working with well-known laboratory and research teams abroad.

 Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees are offered in three different fields, each of which proposes a number of different specialisations. These three mains subject areas are grouped according to the specificities and centres of excellence of the University:

 - Humanities and Human Sciences

 - Law, Economy, Management
